Community Service: Back-to-School Drives
At the heart of Revilo Gives is our annual Back-to-School Drive, a major community service event designed to meet practical needs while uplifting spirits. We distribute backpacks filled with supplies, offer free haircuts, hygiene kits, and clothing, and create a festive, judgment-free atmosphere that restores dignity to families. These events not only prepare students for the academic year but also foster a sense of community pride and support. For many parents, this event alleviates the financial burden of back-to-school shopping. For children, it boosts confidence, self-worth, and readiness to learn. By bringing local volunteers, educators, and businesses together, we turn back-to-school season into a celebration of equity, access, and encouragement.
This event isn’t just about materials—it’s about empowerment. For many families, school supply lists can cost upwards of $150 per child, creating overwhelming financial stress for parents of multiple children. Our drive helps relieve that burden, ensuring students walk into the school year prepared, proud, and motivated. For children, it’s more than a backpack—it’s a boost in self-esteem, academic readiness, and emotional well-being.
Each year:
We serve 150–300+ students and families across Georgia and surrounding areas.
We provide over 1,000 individual items, including age-appropriate books, pencils, notebooks, deodorant, soap, and school uniforms.
We partner with local barbers, stylists, teachers, and business owners who donate their time and services to make the event special.
We receive support from volunteers, local sponsors, and community leaders who believe in equity and access for all students.
This annual drive not only prepares students academically, but it fosters community pride, unity, and encouragement. It turns what can be a stressful season into a celebration of support, opportunity, and second chances.
“It’s not just about what’s in the bag. It’s about the message we send: You matter. You’re ready. We’ve got your back.”
